A Joint Venture of OSK Property (OSK) and Employees Provident Fund Malaysia (EPF) is constructing
a mixed-use complex in Victoria, Australia.

The project involves the construction of a 20,260m2 mixed-use complex consisting of six towers on
a 2ha of land and will be developed in five stages. It includes the construction of two residential
towers comprising around 2,600 units, a 54-story 621-room hotel, a 37-story 52,000m2 office building,
3,700m2 green space, 1860m2 City Park, 950m2 Open Plaza, one childcare center, commercial and
retail space and 111 parking spaces. The project will be developed in five stages.

The Melbourne Square first stage involves the construction of 1,048 apartments in two residential
towers of 54 and 69-story high, 3,700m2 public park, an eight-story, 91 residences. It is expected to
cost US$500 million.

The two residential towers of which East Tower is 68-story and West Tower is 52-story.

Cox Architecture has been appointed as an architect and Carr Design Group as the interior designer for
the project. Cox Architecture worked with Rush Wright Associates for the master plan and with Taylor
Cullity Lethlean for the first stage.

  • On July 23, 2014, initial contract for the proposed site has been signed.
  • In the fourth quarter of 2015, the project received development approval.
  • In December 2016, the projects master plan was approved by the Department of Environment,
Land, Water, and Planning.
  • In February 2017, the developers received approvals for the first stage of the development.
  • In October 2017, OSK has appointed Multiplex as the construction contract for the first stage
of the project.
  • In the fourth quarter of 2017, the construction works on the first stage commenced.
  • As of March 2018, 95% of piling works for the first stage has been completed.


Construction activities on the first stage due for completion in October 2020. A hotel operator and
tenant(s) for the commercial tower are being finalized with an announcement expected in the second
quarter of 2018.
