Summary
The Government of Bangladesh (GoB) is planning to undertake the construction of the Mirsarai-Cox Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive project in Bangladesh.

The project involves the construction of a 285km marine drive road. It will include the construction of walkways, access roads and leisure facilities.

In October 2014, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh visited United Arab Emirates (UAE) and initiated discussions with Dubai Port World Authority (DP World) and Mubadala Development Company PJSC (Mubadala) for the development of the project. The GoB requested DP World to carry out a feasibility study on the project. The GoB also sent the project proposal to UAE Government for its consideration.

Two high-powered delegations from the UAE are expected to visit Dhaka to examine the investment scenario in Bangladesh for the development of the project.

On December 18, 2014, the Governing Body of the Bangladesh Tourism Board decided that a tourism master plan be formulated by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism for the development of the region and the master plan will also include the Mirsarai-Cox Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive project.

In December 2016, feasibility study on the project was completed.

In May 2017, Construction on the Marine drive from Coxs Bazar to Teknaf was completed. Bangladesh Army constructed the Marine Drive under supervision of the Roads and Highways Department.
