Summary
Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) is undertaking the construction of a commercial tower in Dubai, the UAE.

The project is implemented in phases and the first phase includes the construction of a 115-story, 700m commercial tower on a 103,650m2. It will also include the construction of 60-degree observation deck on the topmost floor, commercial space on a 46,700m2, five-star hotel area of 29,900m2, 240 residential space area of 24,150m2 and separate food and beverage outlets on 2,900m2, office space, retail space, parking slots and other related facilities. The detailed scope of the project is yet to be revealed.

DMCC issued tenders for appointing the project manager in December 2013 and the specialized firms to participate in a master plan design competition in the first quarter of 2014.

In June 2014, DMCC short-listed four global firms to design the master plan of the proposed project. The master plan will also address transport methods and traffic flow issues.

In September 2014, Turner International Middle East was appointed as the project management consultant. In late 2014, shortlisted architecture-engineering teams were interviewed.

Cluttons has been appointed as a quantity surveyor; RNL Design as an architect; The Vanguard Group Incorporation as study consultant, MAST Piling and Foundation Contracting L.L.C as enabling contractor, WSP and Woods Bagot appointed as a consultant.

On June 16, 2015, Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture was appointed as architect, along with WATG as the master planner.

DMCC extended the tender closing date for the contract to build the project from September 17, 2017 to October 15, 2017.

The companies invited to participate in the tender are; Al-Futtaim Carillion (local/UK), Alec (local), Arabian Construction Company (ACC) (Lebanon), Bel Hasa Six Construct (Belgium), Multiplex (Canada), Samsung C+T (South Korea), TAV (Turkey). The contractor is yet to be appointed.

On January 10, 2018, Rockwell Group has been appointed as interior designer.

On January 16, 2018, HLG Contracting secured the concrete raft foundation contract for the project.

Tender activities are underway and simultaneously, shoring and piling works are underway. 

Construction activities are scheduled to be completed in 2025.
